On Sunday, November 28, we had one of our 42 missionaries, Missionary David Sloan and his family visiting our church.  Bro. Sloan gave a wonderful report of the work in Ukraine, preached and his family delighted us with music.  What a great day it was with them in our midst!  Our people really enjoyed hearing them sing, hearing him preach and the great time of fellowship with them after the services.  Thank God for our missionaries!  We call them in our church our heroes!  After the service on Sunday night my wife and I took them to eat at IHOP where we were able to spend great time together talking about God's work in the mission field.  Mrs. Billie Sloan, Bro. Sloan's Mom, was visiting along with them.  Mrs. Billie Sloan has been in the mission field 50 years.

El domingo 28 de noviembre, tuvimos a uno de nuestros 42 misioneros, Misionero David Sloan y su familia visitando nuestra iglesia.  El Hermano Sloan nos dio un maravilloso reporte de la obra en Ucrania, predico y su familia nos deleito con musica.  ¡Que gran dia fue con ellos en medio de nosotros!  Nuestra gente verdaderamente disfrutaron escucharlos cantar, escucharlo predicar y el gran compañerismo con ellos despues de los servicios.  ¡Gracias a Dios por nuestros misioneros!  ¡Nosotros los llamamos nuestros heroes!  Despues del culto en la noche mi esposa y yo los llevamos a cenar a IHOP donde pudimos pasar un gran tiempo hablando de la obra de Dios en el campo misionero.  La Hermana Billie Sloan, la mama del Hermano Sloan, estaba visitando con ellos.  La Hermana Billie Sloan ha estado en el campo misionero 50 años.

Revival Conference in San Jose Costa Rica/Conferencia de Avivamiento en San Jose Costa Rica

This week the Lord gave me the opportunity to preach the 1st Annual Revival Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica for my good friend, Pastor Ricardo Valverde.  He pastors the Bible Baptist Church of Hatillo 2 in San Jose, Costa Rica and is one of the 42 missionaries we support.  The Lord gave us a great attendance throughout the conference and many decisions were made by God's people to be more consacrated and separated unto the Lord.

Esta semana el Señor me dio la oportunidad de predicar en la 1ra Conferencia Anual en San Jose, Costa Rica para mi buen amigo, el Pastor Ricardo Valverde.  El Pastorea la Iglesia Biblica Bautista de Hatillo 2 en San Jose, Costa Rica y es uno de los 42 misioneros que nuestra iglesia sostiene.  El Señor nos dio una gran asistencia a traves de la conferencia y muchas decisiones fueron hechas por el pueblo de Dios de ser mas consagrados y separados para el Señor.

En este retrato la Familia Rodriguez y mi esposa y yo estabamos en el restaurante almorzando con ellos y no pude resistir tomarme un retrato con Rafael Jr.  ¡El fue un niño muy bueno; por lo menos conmigo!

Our Men's Rondalla sings /Nuestra Rondalla de Varones canta

On Sunday November 21, we had our special Thanksgiving service and our Men's Rondalla sang for us.  What a blessing to see men dedicate themselves to sing for the Lord!  We also had one of our 42 missionaries visit our church that night, Missionary Rafael Rodriguez and his wife Tracy with Evelyn, Emily and Rafael Jr.  Pastor Rodriguez and his family have been in Dolega, Panama for 5 years and doing an excellent job.  Our church has been supporting this family for all 5 years and we praise the Lord for the many that have been saved and transformed by God's Word through this precious family.  Let's pray for our missionaries; they are truly our heroes!

El Domingo 21 de Noviembre, tuvimos nuestro servicio especial de Accion de Gracias y nuestra Rondalla de Varones canto para nosotros.  ¡Que bendicion ver a hombres dedicarse a cantar para el Señor!  Tambien visito nuestra iglesia esa noche uno de nuestros 42 misioneros, Misionero Rafael Rodriguez y su esposa Tracy con Evelyn, Emily y Rafael Jr.  El Pastor Rodriguez y su familia han estado en Dolega, Panama cinco años y estan haciendo un trabajo excelente.  Nuestra iglesia ha estado sosteniendo a esta familia por los 5 años y alabamos al Señor por los muchos que han sido salvos y transformados por la Palabra de Dios a traves de esta preciosa familia.  ¡Oremos por nuestros misioneros; son verdaderamente nuestros heroes!

It was good to see a friend/Fue bueno ver a un amigo

While I was in Mexico City preaching for Dr. Kevin Wynne and teaching in his Bible Institute I was glad to see Armando Barajas, now a student at Mount Zion Baptist Institute.  Armando was in our church for six months before he left for Mexico to get married and finish his studies to be a Pastor.  We were able to talk a little and what a blessing it was to see him and knowing he is doing well.  He will be marching in May 2011 and then follow God's leading as to where he should start a church.  Let's pray for these young men who God has called to start churches in Mexico.  It is not an easy task,  but with His calling and leading they can and will do it.  No doubt Dr. Wynne is producing great men and ladies who are doing great works for the Lord all over Mexico.

Mientras estuve en la Ciudad de Mexico predicando para el Dr. Kevin Wynne y enseñando en su Instituto Biblico me alegre de ver a Armando Barajas, ahora un estudiante en el Instituto Bautista Monte Sion.  Armando estuvo en nuestra iglesia seis meses antes de irse a Mexico para casarse y terminar sus estudios para ser un Pastor.  Pudimos hablar un poco y que bendicion fue verlo y saber que el esta bien.  El estara graduando en Mayo 2011 y luego seguir la direccion de Dios en cuanto a donde comenzar una iglesia.  Vamos a orar por estos jovenes que Dios ha llamado para comenzar iglesias en Mexico.  No es un trabajo facil, pero con el llamado y la direccion de Dios ellos pueden y lo haran.  Sin duda que el Dr. Wynne esta produciendo grandes hombres y mujeres que estan haciendo grandes obras para el Señor en todo Mexico.

Trip to Mexico City/Viaje a la Ciudad de Mexico

This past Monday I flew from DFW to Mexico City to be for the second year in a row with Missionary David Combe, one of the 42 missionaries our church supports.  The conference lasted three nights and each service was full and many decisions were made by God's people.  It was the second annual family conference held in his church.  On Thursday morning I was taken to another hotel were I would stay Thursday and Friday to be with Dr. Kevin Wynne, Pastor of the Mount Sion Baptist Church in Mexico City, the largest independent Baptist Church in the country.  I had the honor of preaching in his Thursday night service along with Dr. Luis Paradas, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach, California.  Needless to say, the crowd was incredible, with probably over 1,000 people in the service.  Not bad for a mid-week church service!  Each picture of the crowd is half of the auditorium.  Today I will be teaching in the Mount Sion Bible Institute, a ministry of this great church.  Dr. Wynne has certainly done a great job for God in reaching hundreds of thousands of people with the gospel.  After the service Dr. Wynne was very kind in taking us out to eat with a great time of fellowship. In the picture from left to right is Dr. Wynne, his wife Debbie, with her husband's hat, Wendy Wynne, Johnny Wynne, Pastor Victor Castillo, from Texcoco, Mexico, Pastor Jose Aguero from the Dominican Republic and Dr. Luis Parada.  Praise God for these great men of God!  It was an honor for me to be with them!

Este pasado lunes vole del DFW a la Ciudad de Mexico para estar por segunda vez consecutiva con el Misionero David Combe, uno de los 42 misioneros que nuestra iglesia sostiene.  La conferencia duro tres noches y cada noche los servicios estuvieron llenos y muchas decisiones fueron hechas por el pueblo de Dios.  Fue la segunda conferencia anual de la familia tenida en su iglesia.  El jueves en la mañana fui llevado a otro hotel donde me hospedaria el jueves y el viernes para estar con el Dr. Kevin Wynne, Pastor de la Iglesia Bautista Monte Sion, en la Ciudad de Mexico, la iglesia Bautista independiente mas grande del pais.  Tuve el honor de predicar en su servicio del jueves en la noche junto con el Dr. Luis Paradas, Pastor de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Long Beach, California. Sin duda alguna, la asistencia fue increible probablemente con mas de 1,000 personas en el servicio.  ¡No esta mal para un servicio de entre semana!  Cada retrato de la gente es una mitad del auditorio.  Hoy estare enseñando en el Instituto Bautista Monte Sion, un ministerio de esta gran iglesia.  El Dr. Wynne ciertamente ha hecho una gran obra para Dios en alcanzar a miles de cientos de personas con el evangelio.  Despues del servicio el Dr. Wynne fue bien amable en llevarnos a cenar con un tremendo tiempo de compañerismo.  En el retrato de izquierda a derecha esta el Dr. Wynne, su esposa Debbie, con el sombrero de su esposo, Wendy Wynne, Johnny Wynne, el Pastor Victor Castillo de Texcoco, Mexico, el Pastor Jose Aguero de la Republica Dominicana y el Dr. Luis Paradas.  ¡Gloria a Dios por estos grandes hombres de Dios!  ¡Fue para mi un honor estar con ellos!
